Dr. Kening Li joined GenScript Biotech Corporation in 2019. Now he is the vice president of legal department. He obtained his Ph.D. in molecular biology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and J.D., with honors, from the University of Wisconsin Law School.

Dr. Kening Li was a partner with the law firm Duane Morris LLP, and lead its IP Group in Asia Pacific. He has over two decades of experience practicing intellectual property and commercial law in the U.S. and China, with major U.S. and international law firms and in house at DuPont.  

 Dr. Kening Li assisted clients, ranging from start-up to Fortune 500 companies, in managing IP assets as an integral part of their comprehensive competition strategy. He is experienced in formulating overall IP strategy, leveraging IP assets in investment transactions, enforcing IP rights in courts and administrative agencies, resolving difficult freedom-to-operate obstacles, negotiating licensing agreements, and effectively utilizing existing intellectual property portfolio to strengthen client’s competitive positions. Dr. Li has extensive experience in drafting and enforcing patents for biotechnology, chemistry and medicine, as well as in commercial and patent litigation.
