Huizhen Chen, a national expert in judicial practice, former committee member of the Shanghai Third Intermediate People's Court (Intellectual Property Court), and second level senior judge.
I graduated with a bachelor's degree from Shanghai Fudan University in 1983, a master's degree from the Department of Law at Peking University in 1991, and a visiting scholar at the University of Southern California from September 2000 to March 2001.
I have been engaged in intellectual property trials since March 2001 and have served as the President of the Intellectual Property Court and a full-time member of the Adjudication Committee of the Shanghai Pudong New Area Court. At the end of 2014, I was transferred to the President of the Second Trial Chamber of the Shanghai Intellectual Property Court. In 2017, I served as a full-time member of the Adjudication Committee of the Shanghai Third Intermediate People's Court (Shanghai Intellectual Property Court) and retired in February 2023.
In 2010, he was awarded the title of "Shanghai Court Trial Expert" for the first time, and in 2011, he was awarded the title of "National Court Trial Expert" for the second time. He was reported by the People's Court as one of the "Top Ten Highlights of the People's Court in 2012". In 2015 and 2018, he was appointed as a researcher at the Intellectual Property Judicial Protection Research Center of the Supreme People's Court. A large number of intellectual property cases have been tried, of which more than ten have been selected as typical cases of intellectual property protection in China and Shanghai, and two have been selected as part of the Supreme People's Court Gazette. Published over 60 professional articles in national journals, of which 2 were included in the "Copy Materials of National People's Congress Newspapers" and participated in the writing of multiple practical works on intellectual property trials. Since June 2015, the Shanghai Intellectual Property Court has established the "National Court Trial Expert Judge Chen Huizhen Studio" in the Zhangjiang High tech Park in Shanghai, conducting research and legal publicity on intellectual property work for the "1 district and 22 parks" in the city.
