Dr. Li Ying has been working in the field of intellectual property since graduating with a PhD from Peking Union Medical University in 2005. He has 18 years of experience and is currently the head of the biopharmaceutical department of the Intellectual Property Department of Hankun Law Firm.

Dr. Li has extensive experience in providing a range of legal services to domestic and multinational clients. He has assisted many industry-leading clients in obtaining patents in China and helped multiple investment and financing institutions, sponsors, and companies successfully conduct IP due diligence for biopharmaceutical companies and eliminate IP risks.

Dr. Li's expertise includes patent mining and layout, patent applications, invalidity and litigation, patent retrieval and due diligence, and other intellectual property related consulting. Dr. Li is skilled in patent retrieval, especially in the search of chemical small molecule drugs and biological macromolecules including nucleic acids and proteins using databases such as STN.

Dr. Li has also represented many clients in many patent invalidity and administrative litigation cases heard by the China National Intellectual Property Administration and local courts. She has served as the main investigator and organizer in multiple large-scale and complex cases, and has gained widespread recognition and trust from clients with excellent litigation results and excellent communication skills.
