Cristina Biggi is a Partner at Bugnion, a leading European IP firm based in Italy, and Head of the firm's Chemistry and Life Science Patent Group since 2011. She holds a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Milan and is a qualified European and Italian Patent and Design Attorney as well as a UPC litigator. She joined Bugnion in 2008, having previously trained at a major IP firm in Milan.

With over 20 years of practice, she has drafted and prosecuted hundreds of patents before the EPO, WIPO, and the Italian PTO, and regularly handles FTO, infringement, and patentability opinions, as well as opposition, appeal, and litigation matters. She is frequently appointed as a court technical expert in Italian proceedings concerning patent infringement and invalidity, particularly in pharmaceutical disputes. Her technical expertise spans a broad range of chemistry-related fields, including pharmaceuticals, biomaterials, polymers, cosmetics, agrochemicals, and diagnostics. She is consistently ranked among the world's leading patent practitioners by Lexology Index, Managing IP (IP STAR), and IAM Patent 1000.
