Wei Gao, Ph.D. in Cell Biology from Peking University, holds both a patent attorney qualification and a legal professional qualification, and has been recognized as a Gusu Young Intellectual Property Talent. He currently serves as Chief Intellectual Property Officer at Yaojing Gene, where he has overall responsibility for the patent portfolio strategy and protection of the company's pipeline. Earlier in his career, he worked as a patent examiner and part-time reexaminer at the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA). He later joined a leading domestic patent service firm to engage in patent prosecution, and subsequently served in intellectual property roles at several well-known Chinese pharmaceutical companies. With cross-sector experience spanning pharmaceutical companies, law firms, and the patent office, he possesses a deep understanding of the full-chain management of intellectual property. He has led the global patent portfolio development for multiple core drug pipelines, resolved disputes related to "drug patent linkage" cases, and conducted BD IP due diligence in major transactions, accumulating extensive hands-on experience.
