Dr. Yongmei Gong is a Senior Partner and Senior Patent Consultant at IPSunny International Law, where she currently leads the firm’s overseas patent team, providing comprehensive intellectual property support for Chinese companies expanding into international markets. Dr. Gong holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Peking University and completed her Ph.D. and postdoctoral training in Biochemistry at renowned universities in North America. Her academic background covers a broad range of fields, including chemistry, biomedical sciences, organic/inorganic chemistry, materials science, and immunology.

Dr. Gong entered the intellectual property field in 2012. She spent six years as a foreign-related patent attorney in the chemistry and biology division at Zhongyuan Xinda Intellectual Property Agency, where she gained extensive experience in cross-border patent practice. In addition, she has worked as an R&D project manager at a pharmaceutical company in Beijing and as a Senior IP Manager at a startup in Zhuhai, giving her a unique perspective that combines industrial R&D insights with IP legal expertise.

Since joining IPSunny , Dr. Gong has led her team in delivering professional and efficient services to help Chinese companies successfully navigate international markets. She has provided numerous patent analysis opinions, reexamination and invalidation services, and legal consultations for both domestic and international clients.
